General Grievous’ Birthday is coming up, and his loyal droids must find him a suitable present — or ELSE! Does the galaxy’s most ruthless commander has a soft spot? This video is particularly cool. It’s an action-packed space battle made with miniature models from the X-Wing Miniatures board game. Lots of plasma cannons and stuff blowing up. Animator Sam sent in a cool Star Wars brickfilm! Watch below. The background was inserted with the greenscreen feature available in the Sony Vegas video editor. Looking good for a first attempt! The creators are planning to improve their lighting and get a better key in future movies. Plenty of details to notice in this film, including lightsaber handle shell casings and blackened LEGO blast marks. Extra points for the homemade piano score!

Brickman Pictures and his cousin Legoman Pictures sent us a film they made with the Stopmotion Explosion Animation Kit. They've done a ton of work and added lots of different techniques, from sound effects to frame effects (check out the gunfire and police lights!) We're posting it for them, since they don't have a YouTube account yet. Maybe someday soon. This is an animation duo with a bright future!
